At SACREdplace we are keen to promote fairly traded and ethically sourced products, which provide fair prices, decent working conditions and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers across the world. We do this through the sale of groceries and gift products bearing a recognised fair trade certification or made by artisans in workshops in various underdeveloped parts of the world, many of whom are disabled or from disadvantaged minorities.
You will notice that the spellings "fair trade" and "Fairtrade" are both used on this website. Most of our products come from Traidcraft and bear the Fairtrade Foundation's "Fairtrade" certification. Our efforts were recognised officially at the South West Fairtrade Business Awards 2017 when we were delighted to receive a Gold Award certificate in the Fairtrade Retailer (Multiple Products) category as well as certificates for managers Kathy and Carolyn as finalists in the Best Fairtrade Advocate category.
In addition, we sell items from other suppliers such as The Leprosy Mission, so we use the generic term "fair trade" to refer to all of our fairly traded products.
